Bina Townhouse

Project Overview
The project includes full renovations of the interiors of an old townhouse in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, as well as architectural layout changes and repurposing of old spaces into new ones. The main idea in interior design, arises from two currents of architecture marked mainly by class and modernism, under the combination of classic furniture and straight lines together with Art-Nuvo style lamps and natural stones such as marble and volcanic stone.

Interior Design
This design has one main room, one full bathroom, common areas, office space and an entertainment and cinema area which can be used as a 2nd bedroom.

The Main Space
For the furniture, we have chosen to combine a piece of furniture with a white background and a straight figure, along with two light blue benches and one velvet cocktail armchair in a coral tone, a rectangular rug to unify the spaces made of natural fibres and a modular mirror to provide breadth into the room.

The Kitchen
The kitchen represented a challenge at the time of design due to 2 specific client requirements: The Walnut wood floor in the common area must continue to the kitchen, and the countertop and island build with Roca Volcanica. When you have an area with little lighting, a kitchen is specific, is important to contrast colours that can help the user when interacting with the work area, on this particular design we opted for white wooden cabinets with a “CERUSA” finish, which is the worn effect, with touches in gold to provide elegance and a straight carving on the doors to give depth; a central pendant light and kitchen appliances in black and stainless steel bring a modern look to the final result.
A curious fact about this kitchen is that through the left door in the pantry, there is access by a circular staircase to the basement where the study and the entertainment area are located.

The Bedroom

The Study
A study to illuminate your ideas.” And the lighting was a key element; being located in a basement with only 15% natural light, we opted for wooden furniture with a natural finish and a ceramic white marble floor. Neutral-toned lights and decorative centre lights. A desk in the white centre gives us order, circulation, and plenty of storage space.

The Cinema Room
The entertainment area features a beige-white central sofa/bed as the centrepiece and a circular coffee table for easy movement. On the walls, we proposed wallpaper and panels in velvet algae green to improve acoustics and rubber panels on the ceiling. Walnut wood finishes on the floor with a retro-style carpet, red velvet curtains to give drama to the TV, and classic lamps to give an atmosphere of old Hollywood cinemas.

Bathroom
The biggest challenge of this renovation was the bathroom. With walls that could not be knocked down and ceiling beams that we could not cover, we chose to adapt to the space and thus achieve a semi-concealed shower and to give it more space, a porcelain floor and turquoise tiles for focus and color.
